Jamie Davies is a nationally
accredited trainer and assessor who instructs the Certificate III in
Security Units (PRSS0314A) Handle Dogs for Security Patrols, (PRSS0313A) for
various registered security training organisations. Jamie has managed and
implemented various security dog projects internationally including one of the
largest security dog operations in Australia running for over 2 years utilising
over 100 dog handlers on a nightly basis.
Jamie together with John Daniel
developed the course
several years ago and have instructed numbers of students nationally in the
handling and development of security working dogs.
This nationally recognised
course covers the skills and knowledge required to train, handle and care
for dogs used for security assignments. It requires the ability to implement
appropriate training methods and maintain the health and welfare
requirements of the dog. Competency also requires the knowledge of
legislative requirements with regard to animal welfare. This course is
developed from competencies at the AQF3 level within the current security
industry competency standards Asset Security Training Package PRS03. On
completion, course participants receive accredited Statement of Attainment
for Manage and Handle Dogs. The course gives certification to security dog
handlers wishing to apply for the security dog handler Security License
category in Qld & NSW.
The course is the most developed of
it kind and runs over a week, comprising of seminar and practical
instruction. Advanced training levels are offered on competition of
fundamental course.
The course is run through Wide
Bay TAFE Security Training Centre and provided by Alldogs Security at their
licensed 72 security dog kennel
facility in Brisbane.
